Last weekend, within the Rehab NatCult Heritage project, the Ricaj Folk Art Festival was successfully organized. This year’s aim of the festival was to present the cultural and natural values of Novi Becej. A rich program was organized for all participants and visitors through which cultural and folk creativity, tradition and its preservation were permeated. The festival displayed handmade crafts and embroideries, old crafts, folk dances, and the folk fairy tale segment was dedicated to the youngest.
“There is our twin town Sandorfalva, Mezotur, and we have guests from Belgrade, and this is the core of the project, making new friendships and cross-border cooperation” said BaloTibor, a member of the Rehab NatCult Heritage project team. He also reminded that “Ricaj” always focuses on tradition, therefore this year traditional fairy tales were told to children, workshops of folklore, old crafts and jewelry making were organized, as well as a visit to the heritage museum “Glavaseva kuca” and the locality of Araca.
Throughout the three days of the festival, participants from Hungary and Serbia had the opportunity to meet, strengthen friendship, cooperation and good neighbourly relations.
