Last weekend, just before the autumn fair season, the first mini-fair NB ECOTOUR in Novi Bečej was successfully realized, where a program was organized for all visitors and locals presenting the cultural and natural heritage of the region. Part of the program was also educational, in addition to lectures on rural and rural tourism, a roundtable was held with the aim of networking key stakeholders in the formation of a unique ecotourism product.
On Friday, September 26, due to bad weather, the entire NB ECOTOUR program was held in the premises of the Culture Center Novi Bečej. Exhibitors exhibited their products and handicrafts in the hall of the Culture Center, while workshops for the youngest were held in the galleries. The roundtable on “Networking and designing a tourism program based on rural and ecotourism – an ecotourism route of the border region” was attended by representatives of tourism organizations, agencies, managers of protected areas and other key stakeholders during which creative solutions were found and the first steps initiated towards the creation of a unique ecotourism program based on the natural and cultural values of the region. The program ended with a visit to the Kotarka Museums and The house where Vladimir Glavas was born.
On the second day of the mini fair, time served us and, as initially foreseen, the exhibit section of the program was set up on a plateau in front of the Culture Center. The centerpiece of the program of the second day of the fair was expert lectures in the field of ecotourism, as well as examples of good practice from Serbia and neighboring Hungary, i.e. the partner town Sandorfalva. After the lectures, a visit to the Special Nature Reserve Slano Kopovo and museum The house where Vladimir Glavas was born was organized, while for the youngest, after the creative workshops and traditional games, the play “Knight of Araca” was performed, completing the first mini fair NB ECOTOUR successfully.
We would like to use this opportunity to thank all the participants who made possible the successful realization of NB ECOTOUR.
